Why am I not losing the pounds?

I have not eaten fast food or eaten out in days maybe a couple of weeks. I am drinking more water and eating healthier (oatmeal, veggies, fruits, eggs, cheerios, etc.). I do occasionally drink a soft drink and have a little candy (non chocolate). I thought for sure the pounds would come off easily. I actually feel more bloated and heavier than before. Why is this? Is it that I am retaining water or am I losing the weight in other areas than legs, abdomen, and behind?
